John Robert Arnold

May 30, 1943January 5, 2014

John Robert Arnold, 70, went to be with his Savior on January 5, 2014. John was married to the love of his life, Lana for 36 years before she went to be with the Lord in 2003. John will be dearly missed by two loving daughters Amy Simpson and Debi Foley, their husbands James Simpson and Jeff Foley, as well as his 3 beloved grandchildren Connor and Allyson Simpson, and Elyana Foley. He will also be missed by his mother Marge Arnold and brother Gary Arnold. John was full of life, dedication, generosity and made an impact on all who knew him. Whether it was through working with NASA, OAO, Lockheed Martin (where he worked for nearly 40 years) or through his involvement with church, Habitat for Humanity and various other ministries both at Gloria Dei in Nassau Bay or First United Methodist Frisco, John always left a lasting impression on those he met along the way. A memorial service to celebrate the life of John Arnold will be held at 2pm, Friday, January 10th at First Frisco United Methodist Church with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor his memory would greatly appreciated. John was active in several charities, but the two below were very special to him. The First Frisco UMC HOPE Team is an emergency response/disaster relief Team. John worked on this team when his health was better. The HOPE Team has most recently been working in Granbury helping with the tornado relief effort. John was a true servant of God who lived his life according to the example of Christ in service to others. He was a valued member of our Sunday School class and his bright face and infectious laughter will be sorely missed. He enriched our lives just in knowing him. Our solace in his passing is in the knowledge that he abides with his Father and Savior. The Seekers Class, FUMC

We've known John for only three short years but it was more than enough time to see that he radiated kindness and was a gentle and loving soul. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you Debi, Ami, and family.

John taught me to sail and introduced me to a life long love of sailing. A good friend and a great sailor. Sail on John to your next harbor.

Amy, Debi, Marge, Gary and Grand Children,

It was my good fortune to have worked with your Dad, Son, Brother, Grandfather for several years at NASA in the 80's. He was a very good man who I enjoyed working with and for whom I have great respect. I know that he is in a better place now and I hope each of you are able to receive some solace with the thought that John, Lana and other family members are reunited once again.
