John A. Caffrey, II, of Frisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 58. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, John was the cherished son of the late Dr. John A. Caffrey and Marilyn Caffrey.
A graduate of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, John earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1990, followed by an MBA in 1993. He met his wife of 33 years, Lisa, while studying at Creighton. His sharp intellect, natural leadership, and warm sense of humor made him a respected colleague and an even more admired friend throughout his professional journey in telecom and colocation sales.
John’s life was one filled with love and laughter. He was a devoted husband and a proud and loving father to their daughter, Blake Elisabeth Caffrey. He is also survived by his three sisters: Mary Flynn and her husband Bob of Boone, Iowa; Nancy Ortner of Rancho Murieta, California; Annie Hunter and her husband Tom of Des Moines, Iowa; and his many cherished nieces and nephews. His family was the center of his world, and his presence brought joy, calm, and strength to all who knew him.
A man of many passions, John was an avid golfer and loved to travel, cook, and explore the world of fine wine alongside his wife, Lisa. At the heart of everything, however, was his family—including his beloved St. Bernards, Rosie and Lily, who were never far from his side.
John had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His kindness, quick wit, and generous spirit touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege to know him.
A memorial Mass to celebrate John’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on October 10th at the chapel of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, Texas. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and honor his memory. A reception will follow at The Apron at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in John’s memory to St. Cloud's Rescue, 8137 County Road 167, McKinney, TX 75071—a cause close to his heart.
John’s legacy of love, loyalty, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
