Ogee was a Planning and Performance Manager with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. February 22nd would have been his 10th anniversary in the Coca-Cola system, where he worked closely with several people in various departments. His knowledge and understanding of the industry was instrumental in building successful business plans. He will be remembered for his work ethic and commitment to helping his colleagues. The special relationship he had with so many people at work will be carried in their hearts at Coca-Cola for years to come.
Ogee loved to travel to exotic, off-the-beaten-path places where he would explore and immerse in by hiking, biking and camping out. He always found peace and solace amongst the trees, mountains, and old city streets.
Husband and father (“Dada”) to three children, Ogee, 46, was an inspiration to many in his will to live. Embracing his own description of being “sick, but fit”, he poured himself into staying in the best physical shape possible, running and biking in between chemotherapy sessions. He kept a positive outlook even when his prognosis turned bleak. He was never afraid of pain, and was willing to go through any treatment just to get a chance to see more sunny days on this earth. As the options dwindled, he readily underwent a clinical trial which, at best, had a 10% success rate. He asked what the next step was when his doctors had nothing more to offer. Above all, he yearned for a chance to live on to see Andi, Micah and Julia grow up and ensure that they will be okay. Ever the practical man however, having realized he did not have long on this earth, he managed to seize each day and create a bounty of beautiful memories with his family.
Ogee is preceded in death by his father, Jorge Briones, Sr. He is survived by his dear wife of 18 years, Isa Briones; children, Andi (16), Micah (12) and Julia Briones (9); mother Olivia Briones; brother and sister-in-law, Bambi and Dette Briones; father-in-law Alex Pardo; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Pardo, Andy & Leslie Pardo, Christoph & Chelo Buhr, and Paolo Pardo; nephews Patrick Briones and Ian Pardo; and nieces Anika and Sophia Buhr.
