Joshua Alan Davis

September 3, 1981August 4, 2019

Joshua Alan Davis was born to Grover and Brenda Davis on September 3, 1981. The youngest of three and the only boy, Josh grew up in Carrollton, TX with his sisters Heather and Allison. Josh graduated Marcus High School in 2000 and spent many years working as an insurance adjustor. He was a kind and thoughtful man with a humble spirit and a very dry sense of humor.

His quietness would fall away once he started talking about something that interested him though. Josh loved watching the History channel and various documentaries about the Old West, Native Americans and anything else that caught his attention. In his free time, Josh would work out, listen to podcasts, watch sports, and play in the back yard with his niece, nephew, and the dogs. He was a closet karaoke singer, and especially liked singing 80's country music. Josh followed several sports teams, including the Atlanta Braves, New Orleans Saints, and the LSU Tigers.

He is survived by his Parents, Brenda Davis of Frisco, TX and Grover (Rose) Davis of Marrietta, GA; Sisters, Heather (Chance) Cypert of Carrollton, TX and Allison (Jordan) Tawney of Farmers Branch, TX; Niece, Juliet Tawney; and Nephew, Keaton Tawney.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Josh when I worked in Dallas. He was very quiet but he would light up when we talked about college football. I always gave him a hard time about the Tigers. He was a good man and will be missed.

My heart mourns with the Davis family.. I have had the privilege of knowing and loving this family from the time they first moved to Texas and have many treasured memories of Josh. He and my brother were around the same age and the girls and I have shared a close friendship for many years. Through the years of play dates, sleepovers, and celebrations we’ve shared, I will remember Josh for his kind heart, funny zingers that seemingly came out of nowhere, and his all around genuinely sweet nature. He was the kid brother that everyone loved and adored. Words can’t express what my heart feels. Sending much love and sincere prayers for this special family. May God wrap you all in comfort and carry you through these very difficult times.

Josh was my colleague. He was precious to me and completely adored. What I always told him was that he was a Good Man. A Rarity.

My heart breaks that this Earth has lost a Good Man in Josh Davis. But I say to Josh...

"Rest in peace my friend. Rest. And say hello to my husband. I'm sure you will both enjoy talking about the History Channel. You are both adored and missed".
