Birmingham, AL most of his life and had recently moved to The Colony, TX where, after a
lifelong battle with depression, finally went to be at peace on Feb. 8, 2022.
Preceded in death by mother, Maureen F. Russell. Josh is survived by father, Thomas Wayne
Russell, siblings: Lindsey Bryan (Dave), Tiffany Karper, Jonathan Martin (Kelsey), and Breana
Martin, Nieces/Nephews: Tayte, Tristen, Trace, Jaxson and Charleigh. Closest friends: Justin
and Savannah Brooks and Benjamin Wing. Widow: Andromeda Bellipani; and so many other
family and friends.
Josh, known to some as Riley, loved to laugh and to make others laugh! He loved to create
anything and everything, could quote ANY line from his favorite show Letterkenny, and could
turn literally anything into an innuendo at the most inappropriate time, making every situation all
the better. He loved his job as a sheriff's deputy because being able to help those in need was a
heart-felt passion. He truly loved working out and being able to clear his mind while practicing jiu
jitsu.
The strength and courage he displayed everyday in his fight with depression and bipolar
disorder inspired all who knew him. Though he took his own life, we know he is finally resting
peacefully.
Visitation will be March 12th at 12M-230PM at NorthPark Baptist Church in Trussville, AL. Quiet
service to immediately follow until 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions to AFSP (American Foundation for
Suicide Prevention) and other suicide prevention agencies, along with such charities as NAMI
(National Alliance on Mental Illness).
