

Kitty is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, James Walter Murray, her parents, Herbert and Ruby Miller of Lincolnton, North Carolina and sisters, Mary Miller Slaughter of Charlotte, North Carolina and Marion Miller Robinson of Ponte Vedra, Florida.
Kitty is lovingly remembered by her children: James W Murray of Portland, Oregon, Katherine Price and her husband Vernon of Frisco, Texas and Mary Lane Morgenstern of Flowery Branch, GA. She has six grandchildren, Brian Murray and wife Marita, Kevin Murray, Matthew Murray and wife Rubi, Rick Morgenstern and wife Melissa, Mike Morgenstern and wife Aimee and Jennifer Flood and husband Pat. Kitty has nine great grandchildren. Kitty is also lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Ted Robinson of Tampa, Florida and niece Beth McGovern and nephew Bert Robinson.
Kitty was born in Lincolnton, North Carolina in December, 1926. She graduated from Lincolnton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of North Carolina in 1948. Kitty taught school briefly before becoming engaged to be married. Kitty and Jimmy were married in Lincolnton, North Carolina in October 1949. They moved several times as Jimmy climbed the corporate ladder and ended up in Trenton, Michigan where they raised their family. In 1980 they were able to move back home to their “beloved” North Carolina. When she needed the help of her family, she moved to Mississippi and then back to Texas to be with Kathi and Vernon.
Kitty loved being with people and people loved being with Kitty! She always had a smile on her face and lit up any room she was in. Kitty was very devoted to the Methodist church. She loved traveling to spend time with her grandchildren. Kitty was a loving, joyful and very positive person who remained that way until the end. She will be missed by all who loved her.
Kitty will be cremated at Stonebriar Funeral Home on Preston Rd in Frisco, Texas and at a later date she will be interred at her hometown cemetery in Lincolnton, North Carolina next to her husband.
