Keith L. Reeder passed from this life to his eternal home on September 29, 2016 at his home in Frisco, Texas with his family by his bedside. Keith was born on May 28, 1948 in Leavenworth, Kansas where he and his older brother, Kenneth grew up.
Family and friends recalled Keith as being a very loving father and husband, a man that possessed a great sense of humor and always, always, willing to help his family and friends. Keith would find time to teach and encourage his children, niece and nephews in whatever thing they might need from him.
Keith graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1966 and later from the University of Kansas with a major in Manufacturing Engineering. He used his education to work for Dallas Semiconductor as a Manufacturing Engineer. Keith found great deal of enjoyment is shooting Sporting Clays with his many friends. He also loved his various scouting trips and adventures with his sons, memories they cherish to this day. Keith’s other passions included watching his beloved Kansas Jayhawks’ basketball games with his daughter and sharing the joy of attending the symphony and musicals with his beautiful wife.
When asked where his favorite place to be was, Keith would respond on his family’s farm in Leavenworth, KS or out on Michael Ray’s ranch in East Texas. His favorite movies were “Shawshank Redemption”, “The Pacific” and the series, “The Band of Brothers”. Keith musical tastes included Toby Keith, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline and Bette Milder.
Keith served his country during Vietnam Era as a Captain in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas under General Dozier. He was also an active member of the American Legion. Keith was very patriotic and loved history in all eras. Keith’s favorite saying was “Do it right the first time and you don’t have to do it again” which was probably a result of his Kansas upbringing, his military training and his engineering background.
The love of Keith’s life was and will always be his bride, Ann; married in Paola, Kansas and were together for 44 wonderful years.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Gwendolyn M. Reeder. His legacy will continue on through his brother, Kenneth L. Reeder and his wife, Pam Reeder of Fairfield, CA; his son, Christopher J. Reeder and his wife, April Gilley of Frisco, TX; and his daughter, Elizabeth A. Reeder and her husband, Jaime Cardoza of Dallas, TX; Mitchel S. Reeder and his wife, Kristen Reeder of Frisco, TX; and his grandson, Griffin Sutton Reeder.
Keith was loved while here with us and will continued to be loved through time and all eternity.
