

Margaret Sophia Lipscomb passed from this life on to her eternal home on September 18, 2016 at her home in Frisco, Texas. Margaret was born on August 23, 1930, the younger of two children in Battle Creek, Michigan and raised there her whole life. Margaret moved to Frisco, Texas in 2007 and spent a brief time in Oceanside, CA during 2014 before moving back to Frisco, Texas.
Family and friends recalled Margaret as a hard worker to the point where she was called “Spunky” instead of Maggie. She was a member of the Cereal City Lions Club. Margaret was also a volunteer for the Children’s Special Olympics. She was proud of her Presbyterian faith and enjoyed her relationships fostered there.
Margaret graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1951. She worked for 30 years at Post Cereal. When she was not working, Margaret really loved being outside. Margaret enjoyed reading. In her younger years she enjoyed spending time outdoors and RV camping. Surprisingly, she was a real NASCAR fan and attended as many races as she could. Margaret’s favorite movie was “My Big Fat Greek Wedding and her favorite singer was Frank Sinatra.
Margaret was married to James G Lipscomb for 37 years who preceded her in death in 2010. Also preceding her in death were her birth parents, William and Janet Smith; her adopted parents, Sophia and Benjamin Honeyman; and her sister, Dorothy

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy W. Golgart of Frisco, TX; her son, Benjamin and Connie Sullivan of Oceanside, CA; her stepson, Richard and wife Donna Lipscomb of Battle Creek, MI; her stepson, James Lipscomb of Forney, TX; her stepdaughter, Cindy Merry of Myrtle Beach, SC; her stepdaughter, Patty and husband Winston Schray of Battle Creek, MI; her brother-in-law, William and wife Autumn Lipscomb of Battle Creek, MI; her sister-in-law, June Boney of Apache Junction, AZ; her sister-in-law Ruth Matson of Union City, MI; her many grandchildren, Heather Golgart of Columbia, SC; Jessica Lipscomb of Santee, CA; Leslie Ann Sullivan; and Kelley Sullivan; Rebecca & Jason Folckemer of Watertown, NY; James G. Lipscomb of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Thomas Lipscomb (Passed in 2006); Lindsey Schray; Carol Ann Schray of Battle Creek, MI Tonya Knox of South Carolina; Miranda Merry of South Carolina; Michelle Handy and great-grandchildren Joshua, Skylar, Adison Folckemer of Watertown, NY; Kimberly, Austyn Lipscomb of Delton, MI; Victoria, CJ, and Loren Knox.
