Margaret Mary O'Malley

Born in Carbondale, PA on March 18, 1937, daughter of the late John P. Willis and Elizabeth R. (Cook) Willis, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Fran O’Malley, also of Carbondale. She was a graduate of Carbondale Area High School and St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Carbondale, PA.

She is survived by her twin sister, Mary, of Mechanicsburg, PA, her four children: John (Lisa) of Fairview, TX; Brian of Coral Springs, FL; Meghan Barnard (Joseph) of Southern Pines, NC; and Tim (Lisa) of Ocala, FL., and five grandchildren: Connor Barnard of Jacksonville, FL; Zachary Barnard of Athens, GA; Keelyn O’Malley of Fayetteville, AR; Brianna Graff (Ryan) of Ocala, FL; and Brandon O’Malley of Ocala, FL.

Raising her family was her life’s work which she supplemented by working part-time as a Registered Nurse. When living in Mahopac, NY, she worked at Silver Hill Foundation in New Canaan, CT. During the thirteen years she lived in Coral Springs, FL, she worked at University Pavilion-Psychiatric Hospital in Tamarac, FL.

She and her husband retired to a golf course community in Ocala, FL and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and going on family vacations with their children and grandchildren.

Peggy was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and her family loved her. She lived a very full and happy life and will be dearly missed.

A visitation and gathering for Peggy will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033.
