

Marietta Guanzon Picache Holmgren passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. She lived a remarkable life marked by faith, family, service, entrepreneurship, and a passion for connecting with others.
Born to Horacio Alvendia Guanzon and Anna (Anita) Cecilio Guidote Guanzon, Marietta was the eldest daughter in her family and carried that role with grace, leadership, and devotion throughout her life.
Marietta was a lifelong learner whose educational achievements reflected her determination and pursuit of excellence. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Santo Tomas in 1958. She later pursued her passion for hospitality, earning a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from the University of the Philippines in 1974, followed by a Master's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration from Cornell University the same year.
Throughout her distinguished career, Marietta excelled in many fields. She began as a pharmacist and later became an entrepreneur, creating Citrobelle Skin Lotion and other beauty products. Her talents also led her into fashion modeling and business ownership. In the hospitality industry, she served as a hotel manager with both Hilton and Marriott hotels, where her leadership and dedication earned the respect of colleagues and guests alike. As the eldest daughter of Horacio and Anita, she also served as President of the Lourdes Grotto Shrine in the Philippines, continuing her family's legacy of faith and service.
Marietta found her greatest joy in her family and her faith. She was deeply involved in her church community and cherished opportunities to travel, dance, and meet new friends. Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Horacio and Anita Guanzon; her husbands, Norberto Picache and Tage Holmgren; and her youngest son, Joris Picache.
Marietta's legacy lives on through her loving family, including her five children: Jaime, Joel, Jonathan, John, and Joann; her 17 grandchildren; and her 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stonebriar Funeral Home.
Following these services, Marietta will be transported to the Philippines for interment at the Lourdes Grotto Shrine, a place that held special significance for her and her family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the PAN Foundation, an organization that helps people with life-threatening, chronic, and rare diseases obtain the medications and treatments they need. Donations may be made through the PAN Foundation's Pay It Forward 2026 campaign.
Marietta will be remembered for her unwavering faith, entrepreneurial spirit, love of family, and her gift for making everyone she met feel welcomed and valued. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
