Marvin L. Longhurst passed from this life on to his eternal home on May 8, 2018 in McKinney, Texas. Marvin was born on February 7, 1938 to his parents, Bart and Gladys Longhurst. Marvin was the youngest of three children sharing his childhood in Green Bay and West Allis, Wisconsin with his twin sisters, Jean and Joyce. When Marvin was a child, he was given the nickname “Sonny.” Marvin graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1956. He joined the Marines in 1958 and devoted four years to the service until 1961. He became a draftsman for Siemens where he dedicated 35 years.
Marvin married Sherry Grams and together they shared 55 years full of laughs and memories. They had three children, Leah, Paula, and Craig. Marvin enjoyed playing golf and reading. His favorite place to be was in his reclining chair watching his favorite sports team, the Green Bay Packers. He also was fond of listening to Willie Nelson. Marvin was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Bart and Gladys Longhurst; and his twin sisters, Jean Cleary and Joyce Lyman. He was survived by his wife, Sherry Longhurst of Prosper, Texas; his children, Leah Wagley and husband, Jessie, of Prosper, Texas, Paula Malloy and husband, Johnny, of Little Elm, Texas, and Craig Longhurst and wife, Leigh, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and his five grandsons, Justin Smith, Ryan Smith, Garrett Malloy, Whit Longhurst, and Warner Longhurst.
