Loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Mary passed away at age 77 to be with our Lord on August 13, 2019. She had Alzheimer’s disease and other health issues. She was born in the small town of Avena in southern Illinois on January 24, 1942.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Frank (Bob) Alm of Frisco, Texas, son Roger Alan Alm and wife Debbie of Burleson, Texas, daughter Terri Michelle Mitton and husband Laurent of Paris, France, grandsons Lucas and Adrien Mitton of Paris, France, and sister Madonna Robbins of Vandalia, Illinois. Mary is preceded in death by her parents Donald W and Nola E Simmons, sister Virginia Reed, and brothers Billy and James Simmons.

Mary graduated from St. Elmo Community High School in Illinois in 1960. She then became certified as a hairdresser. She met her husband Bob of Oak Lawn, Illinois while he was a college student working at a summer job in St. Elmo, Illinois. They were married on June 9, 1962. Mary worked several part time jobs, the longest being in real estate sales.

Mary was a devout Christian, loving and sincere, always willing to help others. Her husband was employed by Texaco as a Petroleum Engineer. They lived in southern Illinois, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Trinidad in the West Indies, Colorado and Texas. Mary and Bob loved to travel and visited many states and countries.
