Mateo’s interests included education, history, and languages (Spanish, German, and English). He received a degree in accounting. He faithfully served his country for 25 years in the United States Army. While enlisted he served in the Special Forces, as a Green Beret, in the Airborne Unit, and as a Ranger. Mateo earned his Purple Heart after being wounded in Vietnam. His hobbies centered around music. He loved to sing, play piano, guitar, and the accordion. He also enjoyed working around the house and built one of their family homes in Texas.
Mateo was a man of unshakable conviction. He went from protecting and serving his country to providing and caring for his family. He died a revered man with an unquestionable love for family, God, and his country.
Preceded in death were his parents and his siblings. He was the youngest of seven. Mateo is survived by his wife Naomi, three children, Dolly Severino, Edward Isin, and Shrin Isin. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Benjamin Lacktman, Edward Isin Jr., Alexander Isin, Kornei Vinogradov, Isabella Isin, Katherine Castro, and Alexander Castro, and his great grandkids Sterling Storms and Vitali Vinogradov.
A funeral mass for Mateo will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:30 AM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75033. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service with military honors at 1:00 PM at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 12130 Peaceful Lane, Frisco, TX 75035.
