Mauricio Lozano, 20 years old, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on December 4, 2021 in Plano, Texas. Mauricio was born in La Jolla, California on April 4, 2001 and graduated from Liberty High School. He is his family’s greatest adventure.
Mauricio loved spending time with his family and exploring the outdoors. His favorite days were spent hiking, riding his bike, and visiting amusement parks. As he grew up, his talent for dancing took form and brought a contagious joy to those around him. Mauricio was an integral part of the Special Reach family and could always be found at the center of the dance floor at celebrations with his friends. He would always ask you to sing or dance and would eventually persuade you to join his party. “Sing, you’re not singing! Dance, dance!” he insisted.
Mauricio adored all things Disney and had the privilege of visiting Disneyland one last time in October with his beloved friends. Some of his favorite attractions were Cars, Spiderman, Space Mountain, Star Wars, and Soarin’ Around The World. This trip was long awaited for over a year, and we are grateful that he had the opportunity to be in his element one last time.
Mauricio had a way of charming everyone he met and made sure to make his loved ones feel cherished. To know Mauricio was to know the definition of pure joy. He had more happiness in his little finger than most people possess in their whole body. And his smile… It lit up the room. He will be remembered for his beautiful spirit and unwavering example of optimism.
Mauricio is survived by his parents, Lucy Figueroa and Samuel Lozano; siblings, Mariana Lozano and Sam Lozano; Godparents, Minerva and Sergio Villarreal. A funeral mass for Mauricio will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75033. Following the funeral mass will be a celebration of life and gathering time from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033.
