Mike grew up in Brooklyn, New York and lived in six states before he settled in Texas. He enlisted in the US Army and served from 1956-1958. He married Barbara, his wife of 62 years, on April 9, 1961. In his early years he was warehouse manager for American Motors, and later a service manager for EATON Corporation in the Yale Industrial Truck Division. In his retirement is chauffeured for The Associates, which turned out to be his favorite job.
Mike’s hobbies spanned his entire life. He was known for becoming an expert in his hobby of choice. He played racquetball and won many tournaments. He loved the water and always seemed to own a boat. Sailing was his favorite and he worked hard to fulfill the duty of Captain Mike. He loved to golf and was often found out on the links. Later in life, he enjoyed a great game of billiards. Spending hours around a pool table always put a smile on his face. His favorite thing of all was a nice dip in the pool on a hot summer day. On any given weekend Mike could be seen watching his Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers with a bowl of potato chips by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents Genaro and Grazia Miele, his bother Stephen Miele and his sons-in-laws David Linn Peterson and John L Kraft. He is survived by his wife Barbara Miele, his daughters Michele Peterson, Karen Kraft and Gracia Wemhoner and son-in-law Rick Wemhoner, his grandchildren Jonathan Peterson and his wife Veronica, Taylor Kraft and his wife Emily, Kali Peterson, Mason Kraft and Alex Trevino and his brother Ralph Miele.
A private family Inurnment will occur on January 3, 2024 at 10am at the DFW National Cemetery.
A public memorial will occur on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 2pm at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco TX 75033. Reception will follow immediately after service at the same location.
