Whenever I think of Mike, the first thing that will always come to mind for me is when he would get out his boatload of Christmas lights and decorate every inch of his house. When I say “every inch”, I really mean every inch! Growing up I always loved it because our neighborhood would be a lot more dazzling and colorful. As a kid I always referred to him as the “King of Christmas Lights”. My Mom dubbed him “Mr. Christmas”. Its very hard for me to not think about him every time I drive by a well lit neighborhood during the holidays. To the Schupp family we love you all! To Mike “Happy Birthday King of Christmas Lights/Mr.Christmas!”

Mike and I served at RAF Croughton and he was a smiling, friendly force that excelled at what ever he did.   I remember our times in the "swamp" where we built networks (if it rained sometimes water would flood our work area where the servers were) and generally had a great laugh at life.  Mike brought light to us all.  The world is a lesser place with his passing.   Mike, brother, you will be missed.

I also met Mike at Croughton and have many fond memories of our time there. Despite knowing his job 10 times better than me, he never made me feel like I didn’t belong.  My best memories of him are on the softball field. At one of our practices, Mike convinced me my reaction times as a pitcher were too slow. Unfortunately, he did that when lined one up the middle into my chin. We lost touch after Croughton but reconnected via Facebook years later and I had the good fortune of golfing with him when he was in Colorado. I took it for granted we’d be able to do the same one day in Texas. You will be missed. Godspeed my friend and God bless Janet and your family. 

Not only did I have the honor and privilege to serve and work with Mike at RAF Croughton, our family was blessed to have Mike and Janet as next door neighbors during our time there.  Whether just watching all the boys playing together, being part of special occasions, or just knowing there was always a helping hand available on short notice, Mike was that true friend to everyone.  Some of the fondest memories was the play calling or commentary of those 3rd and Goal plays from the 2 yard line when a Dallas game was on AFN. Granted this typically transpired through open windows but those memories have been re-lived many times over the years.  We are thankful we had the opportunity to share time with MIke and are saddened at his lost.  Our Prayer with Janet and the whole family.    

Mike was a talented sax player and wonderful classmate at Judson High School. Thankful for his USAF service; i know he was excited about being stationed in England. Pat and I send our prayers and love to the family.

I met Mike at Randolph AFB in 1983.  We played lots of softball and bowled together.  I remember when he met the love of his life Janet and they started dating.  We were then stationed at Carswell together in 1990.  I arrived at the base and went to see a softball game  and Mike saw me and asked me to gear up and come play with them so I went and purchased a glove and cleats.  Our families became very close and we did lots of things together and have remained friends over the years.  Mike will truly be missed.

I met Mike 11 years ago and love him from the first time we worked together! No matter what the situation Mike was always full of happiness joy and Life! We spent the next 4 years traveling the world and working on technologies that at the time were un heard of! Mike never failed to remember and reach out on the toughest of days, a fellow Veteran he loved the Airforce and the time that he and Janet were able to travel and see the world. Mike you will always be remembered brother and I will never forget the help you gave me both as a fellow veteran and a peer! I will truly miss you all of my days!

Thank you Mike. You will be always in my heart  and thoughts. I don’t have words to describe all the things you did for me. I’m honored and thankful for the opportunity to share your company during one of the best times of my life. Descanse em paz irmão. Deus lhe receba com muita luz e abençoe a toda sua família e amigos. 

Mike was my supervisor and friend when we were stationed at Croughton AB on the late 90s. He was also the mentor I most thought of as my career progressed.  We had brief intermittent contact since then, him asking me to take a job under him again, me asking him to provide references.  Despite the long time and the short conversations, I always knew he was there for me, and just knowing he was in this world made everything better. I am gutted beyond words.  To his family, bless you and if you ever need anything, please reach out!

I met Mike when he married my sister janet i guess in the early to mid 80s .. A long time ago. I will always remember the love and caring Mike had for his family and friends and mostly Janet, Brian, Sean, Kevin and Chase. And for sure his grandkids. I remember last weekend and there were kids there and loud and someone asked mike are they bothering you and he said no i am so blessed.. I will miss him and love him always. A great guy and a veteran

We met Mike and Janet at Carswell AFB in the early 90's and somehow convinced them to move to England with us when the base closed.  Just like others who have provided memories, Mike and Janet made fast, and lasting, friends everywhere they lived.  Our kids shared their very early years together and we shared fantastic holiday meals.  Mike earned his nickname "Bump" in England and that is how we'll always remember him.  I (Greg) still have never met anyone who threw a softball harder - Mike broke my webbing on several occasions.  He served with honor, was excellent in his craft...and was afraid of heights.  Our hearts ache for the loss of a friend and for the grieving of Janet and the family.  Godspeed Bump and we'll see you again.  -Hammer & Miss Karla-

My husband and Mike coached together years ago at West side lines little league they were such wonderful fun times.  Many fun filled memories to look back upon our sincerest condolences and prayers for his family.

Mike was the pivotal example of a Great Family Man to include a Father, Husband & Grandfather.  I met him and Janet in 1999 when we moved to Prosper. Our boys were the best of friends all thru elementary to college. We were both 2nd parents to each other's kids. I cherish the memories of our kids growing up together and all the fun we had in Small Town Prosper. I wouldn't trade those days.  I know he is in heaven looking down on all of you while probably casting a line.  Janet, you  and the boys are in my prayers.  I love you all and am praying for peace and comfort.

Mike was the boy with the El Camino who fell in love with my pretty best friend  who lived next door to me.  They raised four boys in a home full of love while traveling the world and serving our country.  He loved her more and more with each passing year. He was a big personality who was always fun to be around. He was a good man. I will miss him dearly. In Heaven there is no pain and no sorrow. He has met with all that have gone before him on the banks of the river where the throne of our Lord and Savior sits. Rest easy Mike. You deserve the gift of Heaven. Your life was well lived my friend. You will never be forgotten.
