Michelle Lea (Dixon) Adams, 50 of Frisco, TX accepted her wings and peacefully journeyed to her eternal resting place Thursday, December 15, 2022 in Mckinney, TX. Michelle was born March 12, 1972 in Springfield, Mo to Leon Dixon and Vergie Dixon. She was joined in marriage to the love of her life, Gary Peanut Adams also of Springfield, MO in February 1995; of this 27-year union were born two beautiful and talented daughters McKenzie and Mallory Adams who were the apple of her eye.
Growing up, Michelle was known as a fierce competitor and all-around athlete having proficiency in both basketball and volleyball on the high school and collegiate level. Michelle used her talent on the court to secure a scholarship to Missouri Southern State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Coach Adams as she is known to her students, faithfully served in the public-school systems of Arkansas and Frisco, TX her entire 19 year career as an Educator. She was passionate about her students, and they were equally as passionate about her as displayed by the outpouring of love and support she received during her illness.
Michelle lovingly devoted herself to a life of service to her husband, her daughters, and her community at large. She was a kind soul with a larger-than-life heart who never met a stranger and gave of herself tirelessly to make the world a better place one heart, one smile, one act of service at a time. As an avid sports enthusiast whether participating, spectating or supporting her All-Star daughters in AAU all the way up to college, Michelle was ride or die. She took on many titles over the years as she opened her home and her heart to pour into others who were in need. Some of those titles include Mom, Team Mom, Homeroom Mom, Surrogate Mom, Friend, Confidant or even Mrs. Adams. Whatever the title, it was no secret Michelle was highly regarded for always being a shoulder to lean on and having a heart to rescue the lost; whether two legged, four legged or winged she didn’t let anyone go astray. She was an encourager and motivator but let us not forget the laughs. Michelle brought comic relief to every situation; she brightened every life she encountered with her infectious smile. She is highly celebrated by her family and loved ones for being charitable, strong, and loving. In her rare moments of spare time, when she wasn’t saving the world, or at a sporting event, you could find her at home doing what she loved the most- watching movies with her family and fur babies getting her feet scratched by her loving husband.
Michelle is preceded in death by her father, Leon Dixon whom she loved and missed very much, her grandmother Bertha Day both of Springfield, MO; and a sister Gale Byrd, of Sand Springs, OK. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband, Gary Peanut Adams; two daughters, McKenzie and Mallory Adams of Frisco, TX; her mother, Vergie Dixon, sisters Connie Myers (Bill) and Donna Crowley (Dave), brother Wade Pippin, all of Springfield, MO; sister Debbie O’Neal of Parsons, KS; brothers Dewayne Dixon and Steve Pippin (Terri) of Sandy Springs, OK; a special mother-in-law, Carletta Adams of Springfield, MO and many loving family members, friends, students and colleagues.
