Nadia Helou Stanbouli
June 29, 1932 – March 10, 2018
For some she was mom, for others she was Teta, but Nadia Helou Stanbouli was a woman who touched so many lives. On Saturday March 10, 2018 at 8:53 PM, this angel was called back home to be with her parents and husband. Nadia passed away in Plano, Texas, after a long fight, as such from an amazing and a strong woman. She passed peacefully, once she knew her work here was done. She is the wife and the life partner of Hani Stanbouli, and the mother of Samir, Souhel and Samer, and mother-in-law to Hanan, Rania, and Marie-Therese. She is also the grandmother of Najd, Kinda, Rakan, Fares, Henri and Patrick.
She is also survived by her sister, Nadra Helou Aoun, and her two sons Rakan and Louai, and their families.
Today, we are here to celebrate Nadia’s life and her contribution to many generations. She was an Executive director of AMIDEAST, helping so many of the Middle East’s brightest and hardest working students match with the top American Universities, many of whom, become famous Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, among many other who found their callings.
Regardless of her busy schedule, Nadia always found time to be with the ones she loved most, her family. She loved her sons very much, and that translated towards her grand children, whom she adored. Nadia always wanted girls, but the Lord blessed her, instead, with three beautiful daughters-in-law.
Nadia loved many things, but you could always see her with ice cream and at other times a glass of whiskey. She was as vibrant as she was strong, and always knew how to give excellent advice and told the best stories. She was a woman who never missed a birthday even if she wasn’t around, and she always loved to hear about the lives and achievements of her family. Furthermore, she always liked to be fashion forward, especially when it came to shoes, and just as much as she loved to walk, you could always hear her talking about another trip she was embarking on, either to visit friends or family.
Mom, since Dad left to heaven, you have always missed him and filled that space with the love for your family, but now the two of you are finally together again, and all we can ask is you keep watching over us all and praying for your sons, your grand children, and all those who will hold you in their hearts.
We will love you always, and will miss you so much. You will always be in our hearts, a constant grace in our lives.
Forever yours, your boys and your family,
Samir, Souhel and Samer
