Nathaniel Moore

October 28, 1946 – September 2, 2026

Nathaniel Moore, affectionately known by his family as “Robert,” was born October 28, 1946 in Mississippi to Annie and James Dempsey. He was the youngest of two brothers and was raised with the love and values that would remain a meaningful part of his life.

At a young age, Nathaniel moved with his family to Gary, Indiana, where he grew up, completed his education, and began building a life of his own. It was there that he started his family and created many of the memories that would remain treasured by those who knew and loved him.

In 1988, Nathaniel made the decision to begin a new chapter of his life and moved to Minnesota. As life continued to unfold, he discovered a calling that would allow him to make a lasting difference in the lives of others. Nathaniel earned his Master’s Degree in Teaching and devoted himself to education as an elementary school teacher.

Teaching was more than a profession for Nathaniel—it was an opportunity to guide, encourage, and help shape young lives. Through his dedication and compassion, he left an impact on the many students and families he encountered throughout his career.

Nathaniel departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 7:49 a.m., at his home in The Colony, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and James Dempsey; his brother; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nathaniel leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his three children, John (Erica) Moore, Alyson (Carlos) Holmes, and Daniel (Kelly) Moore; his six grandchildren, Marqui’, Donovan, Nevaeh, Isaiah, Aiden, and Victoria; as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Though Nathaniel is no longer with us in person, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, in the lessons he shared, and in the lives he touched. His journey was one of family, growth, service, and purpose, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue through the generations.

A visitation will be held at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033, on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m.
