A devoted follower of Christ, Nick lived a life of faithful service and humble leadership. He served as both a deacon and an elder, embodying the heart of a servant and touching countless lives with his steady faith, integrity, and compassion. Those who knew him saw Christ reflected in the way he loved, led, and lived.
Born on September 28, 1942, Nick was a gifted athlete in his youth, proudly playing basketball in high school. He remained a loyal Oklahoma Sooner fan throughout his life, rarely missing the chance to cheer them on during football and basketball seasons.
After high school, Nick answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Army. Upon completing his service, he returned home, pursued higher education, and earned his degree in accounting along with his CPA certification. Nick went on to have a long and distinguished career with the Federal Government, where he worked in various roles for 28 years until his retirement.
More than anything, Nick was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 63 years, Shirley Ann Kelly (Warden), their two sons—Doug and his wife Laura, and Curtis and his wife Anna—as well as four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (with number six on the way) who brought him great joy and pride.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Shawnee Trail Church of Christ, located at 10633 John W. Elliott Dr. Frisco, Texas 75033 on November 1, 2025, at 10:30am.
Nick’s life was one of unwavering faith, deep love for family, and tireless service to others. He will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
