Oluwaseun Joshua “Seun” Opere was born to Caxton and Adetokunbo Id. Opere on March 18, 1999. He is the oldest of three children and grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Frisco, Texas. Seun graduated from Lone Star High School in Frisco, TX on June 2, 2017.
When he was 6 years old Seun was walking with his mother in New York City and saw a young man smoking a cigarette. He approached the man and said “Do you want to burn Jesus up in your stomach? You need to stop smoking.” He figured if Jesus lives in the man, he could burn Him up by smoking.
Seun was an electric leader with a way of touching people. He was a caring, resilient and vibrant young man whose warmth and positive attitude made him a great friend to all and a joy to be with. He loved football, photography, drawing, children, teaching, and travelling. Seun’s favorite place to be was the football field or the gym, and he enjoyed classical music, instrumental worship music and the Bernie Mac Show. He served in the Gracekids preschool at Grace Outreach Center in Plano, TX.
Seun is survived by his parents, Caxton and Ade Id. Opere of Frisco, TX; siblings, Ife Opere and Seyi Opere of Frisco, TX; and lots of cousins, aunts, and uncles from Texas, Nigeria, Maryland, Virginia, California, New York City, Chicago, Ohio, North Carolina and England.
