While growing up in Sandwich, IL he attended Newark Community HS, and this is where Bud’s life would change forever when he met Judith (Judy) Walker. Judy was the love of his life and the two of them eventually married on Valentines Day in 1959. Bud’s love for Judy would be the driving force in all he would accomplish throughout his life.
Bud and Judy’s love for one another manifest in the arrival of their three children, Kimberly, Kirk and Krista. This would be the foundation of a team that would eventually grow to nine grandchildren. And while Bud’s accomplishments in business were well recognized, it was his passion and love of his family that would define the sum-total of his life.
Bud had many interests, including; Golf, Tennis, Shooting, Business, Politics, Sports and the Old West. He was also extremely proud of his Norwegian heritage and the native food of that country. He was also known for his wisdom and counsel and willingness to face life’s challenges with grit, determination and compassion. But at his core was his Faith in Jesus.
Bud is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clarissa and Alivin. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Judy; his children Kimberly (Joe), Kirk (Leigh) and Krista (Brian) and his grandchildren, Andrew, Addison (Vy), Carly, Sarah, Connor, Tyler, Jordan, Brittany and Sierra who all knew him as “Papa”, and also his sister and brother -in-law, Annette and Kenny Olson. Bud loved Jesus and was secure through the end, that he would spend eternity in the presence of God. He was admired in life and will be missed in death and has left a profound mark on all who knew him.
