Paul David McMullan was born to Imogene and Paul Decator McMullan on July 5, 1958. The oldest of four children, Paul grew up in Conyers, GA. He graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1976 and went on to work for Frito Lay for 36 years. He would introduce himself at meetings as "Mr. Transportation". Paul married Donna McMullan on February 4, 1984 in Conyers, GA.
Affectionately known as Papa Paul, MAC, or Silver bullet, Paul loved working on trucks, riding his Harleys, and spending time with his family. He loved going to his shop, Pike’s Peak, Colorado, Gatlynburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smoky Mountains. Paul’s favorite artists were George Strait, Hank William’s Jr, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. He especially enjoyed In Color by Jamey Johnson and Daddy Let Me Drive by Alan Jackson. His favorite movies and TV shows were the James Bond series, the Wizard of Oz, Last Man Standing, Highway to Hell, Ice Road Truckers, and Big Bang Theory. He was known for saying, “In 50 years, who’s gonna care?”
Paul had a huge heart, was very intelligent and mechanically inclined and was known as the “Man with a Plan”. You could put Paul in a room by himself for 8 hours with a spreadsheet and he would be in hog heaven. Paul could fix anything and everything. Anyone who ever had a problem would come to him and he always had the answer. His perfect weekend included hanging out in the shop, a cold beer in his hand, with his loved ones.
Paul is preceded in death by his father Paul Decator; grandmother, Iona J. Gibbins; and grandson, Matthew Bakerink.
