Always remember Richie as  kind and thoughtful .  He was such a cute kid with curly hair who grew up to be a handsome man with curly hair.  Remember him playing guitar with Uncle Jim.  So nice to hear him play and sing.
He was so loved by so many.  He is going to be missed.  Gone too soon.   My love and prayers go to Scott, Tricia and Brett.

Richie was the best of the best and you all are a wonderful, loving, amazing family. I grieve for your loss and love you all!


Richard and I met our freshman year at Texas Tech. He was so kind and I felt very safe with him. We were kindred spirits. Coming to TTU from a small town in North Texas, I was a bit overwhelmed. 

I met Richard through the fraternity he was a member of. He was assigned to drive my friends and I safely to and from a party. After that night, we called him back because he gave us his number and specifically told us to call him to make sure we got home safe. Coincidentally, he was in one of my classes, so we became fast friends. He also lived in the same dorm as my best friend, so we ended up spending a lot of time together. 

Once, I mentioned to him that I wanted to go fishing, and within 24 hours, he had everything prepared and took us to a really cool fishing spot. That same day, he got pulled over as we were leaving and I still remember how embarrassed he was that he accidentally ran a red light because he was distracted by our conversation. He stopped completely, yielded, then proceeded as if it were a stop sign with a police officer sitting directly behind us. We chatted with the officer and Richard cleverly told him he made the mistake because he was nervous being with two beautiful girls, and he sent us on our way with a warning. 

I remember he loved his truck. He sent me a very nice message when he had to leave school, which I found to be very thoughful. After that, we lost touch. I will always remember him as a kind, decent, and funny boy that kept me safe when I needed it most.

Richie was so many good things, but his kindness and consideration stood out to me. In November I was "fifth-wheeling" Richie and Brett and their girlfriends at an arcade. So naturally I was left out of partner games because I didn't have a partner. There was a really fun-looking basketball game that we got pretty excited about. He saw my excitement so he sat out that round and let me play against Kassi while he happily cheered her on. He made sure I was still having fun and felt included. The gesture itself was simple but the motivation behind it and the impact it has had on me is huge. I have been thinking about it a lot over the past couple of days. This instance and so

I still can not believe Richard is gone. He was such a nice guy to work with at MarineMax.  When ever we walked by each other at work Richard would always say to me "how's it going" I'll miss that.  He was always willing to help.  May the LORD  wrap his arms around you and your family.

I have such fond memories of Richie and Kyle growing up together.  I remember that they were going to create the Kitchie - a washer/dryer combo where the clothes automatically went from the washer to the dryer and then got folded.  Richie was always a joy to be around.  I know your hearts are broken and we are so sorry for your lose.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  

I still can hardly grasp that he is gone ... so shocking and unexpected.
I enjoyed working with Richard at MarineMax.  He was always so thoughtful and willing to help and support our work family and our customers with anything needed. He was such a sweet guy... a sweet spirited soul.  He will be sorely missed.  
May the arms of our heavenly Father hold you and comfort you all during such a difficult time.
