

Robert Larry Clark, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones in Prosper, Texas. Larry lived a full life, defined by his deep love for his family, a passion for exploring the world, and a dedicated spirit of service.
Born on July 19, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Larry was the son of the late Gilbert Clayton Clark and Minnie Louise Clark. From his youth, he demonstrated leadership and commitment, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and sharing his love for music by singing in his high school barbershop quartet, The Moonlighters, as well as Houston’s Tidelander’s Barbershop Chorus. He earned a full Navy scholarship to the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1959 with a degree in Mathematics.
Following graduation, Larry proudly served as an officer in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1963. Upon completing his military service, he began a long and distinguished career with IBM, spanning nearly four decades from 1963 until his retirement in 2002. As a Systems Engineer and Implementation Facilitator, Larry was instrumental in managing large database products.
In his retirement, Larry found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He cherished every moment spent with his expanding family, continued to tinker with computers, organizing family photos and presided as Chairman of his church’s finance committee for two of the churches he attended.
Larry’s legacy of love lives on through his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Suzanne Hightower Clark, to whom he was married from 1972 until her death in 1989. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Jane Sitzman Clark. He is also survived by his sons, Robert Brian Clark, John David Clark, two stepchildren, Amy Patterson and Jeff Patterson. Also, he leaves behind his cherished grandchildren; Dylan Courtney, Skylar Clark, Braeden Darveau and Joey Patterson.

Memorial Service: pending arrangements at The DFW National Cemetery and Memorial Service at Prosper United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Larry’s memory to The National Kidney Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.
