Robert married his high school sweetheart, Annette, on New Year’s Eve in 1976, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Robert earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington in May 1978. Early in his career, he moved his young family from Amarillo to the Dallas area to pursue new opportunities. Robert had a true entrepreneurial spirit, starting and leading multiple businesses over the years. He had a deep passion for technology and accounting, particularly within the construction industry, where he served as a business owner, CFO, and trusted consultant for much of his career. His door was always open and was a mentor, counselor, and friend to everyone he met along the way. He retired in 2026. In retirement, nothing brought him greater joy than attending his grandchildren’s games and cheering them on. Robert had a heart for God, and his family finds peace in knowing he is in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Blanche Muir. He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Muir; his son, R.T. Muir and his wife Lyric; his daughter, Dee Estep and her husband Brandon; his brother, Robin Muir and his wife Dawna; his sisters, Roma Muir and Ronda Muir; and his cherished grandchildren, Cole and Campbell Muir, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins and other family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, Texas 75033.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Park Foundation.
