

Rosemary Bojanowski Nichols was born August 19, 1936 in Berwyn, Illinois and passed away on March 2, 2026 in Frisco, Texas.
Rosemary attended Lourdes High School in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Evanston, Illinois.
She later earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at Texas Woman’s University. She joined the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant and served as a nurse at Walter Reed in Washington, D.C. While in the service, she met her future husband, Jim Nichols.
They lived in San Diego, California; Oak Harbor, Washington; and Benton Harbor, Michigan, before moving to Dallas, Texas, when Jim was hired as a pilot for Braniff Airlines. They purchased their home in Farmers Branch, Texas, where they raised their family. In 2012, they moved to Highland Springs in Dallas.
Rosemary enjoyed arts and crafts throughout her life, including painting and participation in the Farmers Branch/Carrollton Art Association. Later, she led the Artists’ Club at Highland Springs and taught watercolor classes. She served as a Children’s Leader in Bible Study Fellowship and taught five-year-old Sunday School for many years at Northway Baptist Church. She operated a private counseling practice specializing in children’s play therapy and marriage and family therapy in the Carrollton/Farmers Branch area.
She always had a special place in her heart for small children.
She loved family gatherings at their home in Farmers Branch and at their house on Lake Tawakoni. The family especially treasured time at the pool and the lake during holidays such as the Fourth of July.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Nichols; her parents, Helen and Joseph Bojanowski; and her brothers, Joseph Bojanowski and Robert Bojanowski. She is survived by her children James Henry Nichols, Jr. (Lorna) of Seattle, Washington; Margaret Nichols of Frisco, Texas; and Beth Nichols Smith (Jamie) of Prosper, Texas; eight granddaughters: Autumn Nichols; Jean Marie Brague (Kyle); Melanie Pasewark (Duncan); Emily Reagan (Constanza Ospina); Rebecca Reagan; Molly Wilson (Sam); Samantha Smith; and Elizabeth Smith; and two great-granddaughters, Lily Wilson and Emma Wilson. She is also survived by her sisters, Margie Carnevale and Helen Grasso.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11 6-8 pm at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, Texas. She will be interred on Thursday, March 12 at 9 am at the Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 12 at 1 pm at Preston Meadow Lutheran Church, 6801 Coit Rd., Plano, Texas
