Hired at the age of 18, Sammy had a successful 40-year career with Rockwell Automation. Sammy enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Street Glide, flying RC planes, and fishing. He loved wearing his big, goofy straw hat to make others laugh, especially while doing parking duty at Hope Fellowship. He also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. Sammy was intentional about spending time with his family. He was a true servant leader and showed God's love through action.
Sammy was preceded in death by his parents Thelma and Verlin Stratton and his sister Elizabeth Stratton. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Candice Stratton; two sons Jeremy Stratton, wife Mayra, and grandson Maximus; Jordan Stratton, wife Amelia, granddaughter Kennedy, and grandson Charlie; and his daughter Jaclyn Skinner and husband Justin. His two brothers Mick Stratton and wife Margaret; Larry Stratton and wife Donna, and sister Beth Shelton and husband Bill; and several nieces and nephews. Sammy will be dearly missed by all those knew and loved him.
