Tarah Ann Ferren Harvey was born on May 21, 1984 to James & Linda Ferren. She grew up in Olathe, KS and even though her brother Tim lived out of state, he still looked after her. After Tarah graduated from K-state, she started working for Jason’s Deli and continued to work there until a few months before she passed away. She loved her job, the people she was blessed to work with, and the company.
A loving wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend, Tarah had a special way with people. If you asked any of her friends or family, they would go on and on about Tarah. If she wanted you to be her friend, she just flat out didn’t take no for an answer and always won you over.
After finding out she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer, Tarah showed an immense amount of strength and positivity. She simply refused to let it define who she was. Tarah was also a huge advocate for METAvivor, an organization that seeks to improve the lives of those living with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Hannah and Braxton were Tarah’s constant source of inspiration to, as she always said, “get busy living”. Cancer did not win Tarah! To reference one of her favorite quotes by Stuart Scott, “You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live”. Fly high our strong sweet Angel!
Tarah is preceded in death by her father, James Ferren. She is survived by her husband, Sam Harvey; children, Hannah “Banana” Sue Harvey and Braxton “Brother Bear” Harvey; mother, Linda Ferren; and brother, Tim Flactiff.
