His advice was you are kind person be yourself do not let this change you. I will never forget those words of advice, his recipes shared, and his beautiful voice! I knew Terry over the last 25 or so years from work. He was always “Ted” to me. I loved his warmth, vulnerability, and sense of humor. He wasn’t afraid to connect with people he cared about in very open and honest ways, and that’s a treasure to me. Doug, I am so sorry for this loss - I promise I will pray for you.

Terry always brought laughter and fun to everyone around him. We spent many good times together at First Church of the Nazarene in Nacogdoches. I loved reading his face book posts about his adventures and outlook on life. I hope he knew what a joy he was to be around. Love and prayers to the family.

My dearest Terry (Della),
May you soar with the clouds in Gods heavenly place! I did not even know you had fallen ill. My condolences to the family but especially your sweet special sister Billie. We met a few times when you lived in Oaklawn when we were all young and finding our way in life! Thank God you had a sister like her! Until we meet again. Your friend, Michael

The thing I will miss the most about Terry is his humor. He always made everything fun and enjoyable. He was there ready to make you smile and laugh. He will be so missed. Heaven has received the best hearted spirit. My prayers are with Doug and the rest of Terry's family.

Terry and I lived down the road from each other. We had lots of long walks, laughs and we car pooled everyday back and forth to school. His smile was contagious! We shared many memories! Rest in peace my friend! We will miss you!

So many memories with my friend Terry from the years we lived around the corner from each other at Crestwood and Center Hwy during our TJR and NHS days. Life was a laugh a minute around Terry. We were in Chorale together and grew up in the First Church of the Nazarene youth group. Our paths didn’t cross too many times following our days in Nac, but a friendship with Terry was a friendship for life. One of the last songs I heard him sing was “Home Where I Belong” by BJ Thomas. “They say that heavens pretty,
And living here is too.
But if they said that I would have to choose between the two.
I'd go home…” Terry will be missed.

When I remember Terry, I smile. We were in Chorale together in high school and Choir for a few years before joining Chorale. We were also in Bye Bye Birdie together and had lots of fun!
Terry was kind, generous, and so funny! When we had our last class reunion my husband and I got to spend quiet a bit of time with Terry and Doug and as always had a lot of laughs. Terry will be missed by so many! He touched more lives than he could ever know with his kindness, his wit, his intelligence and his beautiful singing voice. God bless you Terry and may you rest in peace. I'm praying for Doug and also for your family to find comfort and peace during this very difficult time.

Marlin and I have known Terry for almost all of his life and always considered him one of “our” kids. There was always laughter and fun around Terry. Praying for all of you, Larry, Billie, and Debbie.
