Terry Wayne Williams was born on September 17, 1947 in Odessa, Texas. He passed away on August 1, 2026 at his home in Pottsboro surrounded by the people he loved most. While his family mourns the loss of an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and friend, they also celebrate a life defined by kindness, loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love.
Terry shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Debra Evans Williams. Together they found joy in the simple things and built a quiet, happy life in Pottsboro, Texas—a place they were proud to call home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deb; his son, Matt Williams, and daughter-in-law, Amber, along with their children, Piper, Knox, Townes, and Finn; his son, Brett Williams, his wife, Nicole, and their son, Callahan. Terry was preceded in death by his beloved son, Casey Williams, the pain of whose loss was never fully healed. Casey remained forever in his heart.
If there was one thing Terry loved above all else, it was his family. His sons and grandchildren were the lights of his life, and nothing brought him more pride than watching them grow and succeed. Whenever new photos appeared in the family album, Terry was always the first to like them and leave a comment. Just hours before his passing, he wanted a full report on Finn’s summer football season and upcoming high school team. He never stopped taking an interest in the lives of those he loved.
His pride in his family was unmistakable. When Matt and his granddaughter Piper were recently featured in an aviation magazine, Terry made sure Deb showed it to every doctor, nurse, and visitor who came through his room. Sharing their accomplishment brought him tremendous joy, and nothing made him happier than celebrating the people he loved.
Terry was the kind of man everyone was glad to know. He was a loyal friend, always willing to lend a helping hand, and his generous spirit stayed with him until the very end.
He also had an extraordinary love for animals. Whether they were pets, strays, or neighborhood wildlife, Terry believed every creature deserved kindness. He faithfully fed and named the neighborhood raccoons, who eventually learned to come to the back door and knock when they were ready for dinner. It was a tradition that became legendary among those who knew him and perfectly reflected his gentle heart.
Family and friends will smile when they remember Terry’s familiar routines. After every meal, he would snap into action and clean the kitchen before heading outside—where more often than not, he was the first one diving into the pool, laughing and playing til late into the night.
Above all, Terry was a devoted husband. The life he and Deb built together was filled with love, fun, and companionship. Their home was a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome.
Terry’s family finds peace in knowing he was surrounded by Deb, Matt, and Brett in his final moments. They also find comfort in imagining a joyful reunion with Casey—perhaps sitting together by a pool somewhere, sharing stories and enjoying a steak and cold beer once again.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His family will forever think of him when a raccoon knocks at the back door, when another family photo is shared, when Finn takes the football field, or when Piper, Knox, Townes, Finn, and Callahan reach all of the milestones in front of each of them. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so completely and in the countless lives he touched with his generous heart.
