Thomas Joseph Fowler passed from this life to to his eternal home on April 18, 2019 at his home in Frisco, TX. Tom, who was 70 years old, was born in Celina, Ohio on October 15, 1948. He was the 11th of 12 children growing up in the Celina, Ohio area. His friends called him Tom however his wife always called him Tommie while his sisters called him TJ.
Tom graduated from Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa. He went on to become a Controller for Packaging Corporation of America. Tom was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Celina, Texas.
Tom was a real war hero. He served as a Sergeant and Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corp. Tom earned the Marksman Medal, the Military Combat Medal and the Purple Heart for wounds suffered while fighting in the Vietnam War.
Tom loved waterskiing on the lake, hanging out with his family around the bonfire, traveling throughout the United States and to Europe. He also enjoyed time at the Lake House boating especially driving the boat while pulling tubers, skiers, and wakeboarders. Tom could actually be seen smiling while he was out mowing the pastures.
Tom enjoyed New Country music along with Elvis Presley and Classic Rock. His favorite actor was Clint Eastwood and he loved watching old Pink Panther comedies. Tom’s favorite saying was “Walk it off”.
When asked how they would remember Tom, families and friends would respond that he was selfless, devoted, caring, an unconditional loving caregiver, always placing family first, and a sincere giver.
Tom married the love of his life, Linda Fowler, and they were happily married newlyweds for 51 years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Marie Fowler; his wife, Linda Fowler; his brother, John Fowler; his sisters, Joan Shaw and Ann Quinn. His memory lives on through his siblings, Richard Fowler of St. Marys, OH; Margaret Wright of Colorado Springs, CO; Marion Gudorf of Hamilton, OH; Patricia Ayers of Colorado Springs, CO; Daniel Fowler of Waynesville, NC; Michael Fowler of Celina, OH; Jean Hefner of Colorado Springs, CO; and Kathleen Baker of Colorado Springs, Co. Tom will be remembered through his children, Troy Fowler and his wife, Lucy Fowler of Argyle, TX; Holli Kizer and her husband, Scott Kizer of Frisco, TX; and Trent Fowler and his wife, Jana Fowler of Celina, TX along with his granddaughters; Mikaela Kizer, Kyrsten Kizer, Skye Fowler and grandsons, Jobe Kizer and Dodge Fowler.
Tom was loved while he was with us here on earth, and will be continued to be loved through time and all eternity. He will be missed.
