Thomas Joseph Santini (Tom) was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and had a wit born out of the Sahara desert. Born on July 8, 1945 to Gus and Nell (Rudolph) Santini in Chicago, IL. He went to Quigley Seminary High School, then attended Loyola University of Chicago.
Tom served in the United States Army National Guard during the late 60s and early 70s earning an SP4 rank and honorable discharge with early release due to his being federalized so often. During his time in the National Guard, Tom went to a friend’s wedding where he met Kathleen Murray.
After a little more than a year, Tom married his soulmate and remained happily married for more than 51 years. In life, he and his bride were inseparable, loving their time together, reading, taking vacations to the beach and quite evenings at home.
His one flaw was he was a Southsider in a Northsider family. He loved his Chicago sports teams and passed that love on to his children, Michelle and Mark. He is survived by his wife, two children, seven grandchildren, brother, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Tom was loved while he was here on earth and will continue to be love through time and all eternity. He will be missed!
In lieu of flower, his family is requesting any donations in Tom Santini’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project (link) and Respect Life (link) organizations.
