

Born on January 1, 1945, in Washington, D.C., Tom was the cherished son of Cecil Wellington Sanders and Mary Elizabeth Rives Sanders. From a young age, Tom displayed a spirit of service, adventure, and quiet strength that would define his life.
A licensed private pilot, Tom was a proud and active member of the Civil Air Patrol, achieving the rank of Major, where he shared his love of flight and his commitment to service with others. His devotion to his country and community was unwavering, and he lived a life guided by integrity, humility, and care for others.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn Sanders; his devoted son, Kevin Sanders and his wife Amy; his grandsons, Keegan Sanders and his wife Shelby, and Aiden Sanders; and his precious great-granddaughter, Sloan Sanders. He is also survived by his dear sister, Eveleigh Sanders, who shared a lifelong bond with him.
His presence in their lives was a source of strength, humor, and gentle wisdom. Tom’s legacy will live on through the countless memories shared, the values he instilled, and the love he gave so freely.
A memorial service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on November 10th at 3:00 pm at St. Andrew Methodist Church in the Hasley Chapel, 5801 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093, with reception to follow immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Civil Air Patrol or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, two causes that were close to Tom’s heart.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered with love.
