Virginia Wilson Pryor 95, of McKinney Texas, passed from this life to her eternal home on December 4, 2019. She was born to John and Emma Wilson on January 9, 1924, in Waco, Texas. She was the last of their three daughters and was undoubtedly much loved and spoiled. From 1929 to 1930 she became the mascot for the Woodman Ladies Auxiliary, tap dancing much like Shirley Temple. Virginia attended Waco High School, attended the Southern Baptist Church and later worked as a bookkeeper. She was married to the love of her life, Woodrow Olin Pryor for sixty-six years and together they had one adored son, Woodrow Wilson Pryor.
Ginger or Gin as she was often called loved plants. She was a skilled gardener with a special talent growing African violets and always enjoyed working in her beautiful backyard. Ginger was a fashionista, an excellent southern cook, a stained glass and mosaic artist and an avid reader for the National Enquirer. She loved cats and often fed stray cats in her neighborhood. She enjoyed music, music videos and favored old movies on TCM, especially colorized ones. Virginia was a wonderful "Mimi" to her two granddaughters who will always hold her close to their hearts.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow O. Pryor; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Pryor; and her niece, Ann Coan. She is survived by her son, Woodrow W. Pryor; granddaughters Angelina and Holli; and six great-grandchildren. Virginia was loved while she was with us here on earth and will continue to be loved through time and eternity. Those wishing to make a gift in her memory please consider a donation to a local animal shelter or an organization of your choice.
