Walterine F Craig passed from this life on to her eternal home on June 24, 2020 in McKinney, Texas. She was born to Walter and Enid Fraser on July 24, 1942 in Hopetown Village, West Coast, Berbice, Guyana, South America. Though her given name is Walterine, she was known by family and friends as Wally and Magalley. She was the fourth of five siblings who were said to be fairly well mannered and respected.

Walterine grew up in Hopetown, Guyana, South America. She went to school and graduated from Hopetown Congregational School. Besides being a wonderful mother and raising six children, after she arrived in the U.S., she attended evening classes in the basement of the Empire State Building. There, she graduated with honors in shorthand and typing. Those who knew Walterine (Wally) would tell you that she was a loving, sincere, always willing to help others, patriotic, and yes, stubborn person. Above all, it was always her family first! Wally loved being with her children and grandchildren when they gathered to watch or participate in sports. She enjoyed a wide range of music. When asked where her favorite place to be was, she would immediately respond anywhere her children were. Walterine was a member of the Episcopalian Anglican Church. She enjoyed sharing Guyanese culture by sharing her gift of cooking with her family as a cherished tradition.

Walterine married the love of her life, Conrad Craig, Sr. on January 28, 1961 in the St. James Celeste Church in Kitty Village, Guyana, South America. They had known each other since childhood so the romance lasted for over 59 years.

Walterine was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Enid Fraser; her grandmother, Margaret Brathwaite; two brothers, Gordon Fraser and Neville Fraser; and her precious son, Walter Craig. Her memory will live on through her husband, Conrad Craig Sr.; her children, Nigel Craig and his wife of New York; Marlon Craig and his wife of Philadelphia, PA; Sherwyn and his wife of Melissa, TX; Conrad Craig Jr. of Melissa, TX; and Conrad A Craig of Melissa, TX and Paula Craig of McKinney TX.

Walterine was loved while she was with us here on Earth and will continue to be loved by her friends and family through time and all eternity. She will be dearly missed.

To My Dear Brother Lonzo and Family,
My heart breaks at the sudden loss of Cousin Wally. I have such fond memories of my childhood of weekends at your home in PA, playing, eating good food and just enjoying my time with your grandchildren. Some of my best memories were with you all in PA. Thank you for the good times. May God bless you and give you strength during this time of bereavement. Cousin Wally will be greatly missed. ❀ πŸ™

Dear Marlon and Family,

I am beyond sorry to hear about your Mother. Mrs Craig was an extraordinary Mom. A mother's love for her son and a son's love for Mom is special. I am lucky and forever grateful that I was treated like a son.

My heart is heavy and many tears have fallen but I'm still able to smile as I hear Mrs Craig say "take your shoes off in my house".

Sending Love & Light to you and your family.
