William Thomas Aldridge, Jr., known affectionately as "Billy," transitioned to his heavenly home on Monday, December 25, 2023. Billy's vibrant personality and infectious chuckle, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Billy was born on January 5, 1974 to his loving parents, the late William and Gwendolyn McCoy Aldridge. A proud graduate of Wichita Falls High School, Billy continued his educational journey at Baylor University, where he pursued his passion for commercial real estate and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
In 2016, Billy married his college sweetheart, Roxanne Bita. Their union was blessed with the joyous arrival of two beautiful children, Katerina Elizabeth and Jamison Thomas Aldridge.
A man of faith, Billy was a dedicated member of Anderson Chapel AME Church in Wichita Falls, TX. He was also affiliated with Hamilton Chapel Baptist Church in Frisco, TX, and Metropolitan AME Church in Austin, TX.
Billy's legacy of service extended beyond the church walls. A generous spirit, he exemplified unconditional love by donating his corneas, granting the gift of sight to others. Through this selfless act, a part of Billy will live on, offering solace to those whose lives he touched.
Billy’s service in the Texas State Guard was admirable. He was training to be a mass care specialist, had an interest in search and rescue, and was being considered for a transfer to the 2nd Battalion. His commitment to duty and honor made him a vital asset to the premier state defense force in the United States.
Beyond his service, Billy was a man of diverse interests. He enjoyed exploring new destinations, mastering culinary arts, camping under the stars, cycling through scenic routes, reading his favorite literature, and had a passion for American and World history. In high school he earned numerous awards with his cherished Volkswagen Super Beetle. Billy was also an avid Baylor Bears and Dallas Cowboys football fan.
Billy will be forever remembered by his wife Roxanne, children Katerina and Jamison, sister Brenda Tyson and brother - in - law Rev. Anthony Tyson, nephew Nathan Tyson, and nieces Dawna-Diamond Tyson and Maia Bita. Also mourning his loss are brother-in-law Gabriel Bita, mother-in-law Aspazia Bita, and many loving and devoted friends.
