William Patrick Matson, affectionately known as Bill, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on September 11, 1974, in Bethesda, Maryland, Bill was a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, and a man of many talents.
Bill was the beloved son of Howard and the late Patricia Matson. He attended Berkner High School, where he developed a love of sports, especially karate and football. Over the years, those interests grew to include fishing, golf, and, of course, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.
Bill spent 34 years in the car business, including the last ALMOST 21 years at Huffines Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Lewisville, Texas. He was hardworking, dedicated, and well respected by the people he worked with throughout his career.
On November 30, 2002, Bill married the love of his life, Lori. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and a bond that was clear to everyone who knew them. Their greatest joy was their daughter, Isabella. Lori and Isabella meant everything to Bill, and his love for them was constant and unmistakable.
Bill loved his family deeply, and he was also a wonderful friend to many. He had a way of making people feel welcome and at home. His quick wit and sense of humor were a big part of who he was, and he could always be counted on for a good joke or a laugh. Whether he was grilling, smoking a brisket, or sharing stories with his friend and neighbor, Jeff, or laughing and lunching with his work friends Surya, Ray, Louis and Greg. Bill was happiest spending time with the people he cared about.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lori; his daughter, Isabella; his father, Howard Matson; his siblings, Jennifer and Greg Matson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Matson.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm Sunday October 11th at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75033. The family welcomes everyone who would like to be there.
A private internment ceremony will be held to honor and remember Bill, in keeping with the family's wishes. His family is deeply grateful to the caring staff at Baylor Scott and White PGA for the kindness and compassion they showed Bill during his final days.
Bill will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and memories he gave us will always remain. He touched many lives, and those who loved him will carry him with them always. Forever in our hearts.
