Hazel Funk Hisey

A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 1:00 at the Marlow Heights Baptist Church with the Reverend James Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hisey was born in Woodstock on April 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Oliver Milton and Florence Virginia Fogle Funk. She was a clerk for Kmart for many years. She was an active member of the Front Royal Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Marlow Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hisey is survived by her son, Eugene Henry “Hank” Hisey, Jr. and wife Laura Norwood Hisey of Front Royal; her sisters, Virginia Henderson of Fort Valley, Muriel Martin of Front Royal, Nina Epard of Woodstock, Sandra Shirkey of Woodstock, Madelyn Crim of TN, and Vera Indermuehle of Morena, CA; and her granddaughter Lydia Marie Hisey.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hisey was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Eugene Henry Hisey, Sr. in 2001; her brothers, Oliver Madison Funk, and Carroll Funk; her sisters, Maxine Dorothy “Jeannie” Heishman and Charlotte Chellini; and her grandson, John Henry Hisey.
