Helen R. Pearson, age 94, of Winnabow, NC formerly of Front Royal passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor James Bunce officiating. Burial will follow in Orlean Cemetery.
Ms. Pearson lived in Front Royal from 1979 until 2003. She was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, T. Franklin Pearson of Charlottesville; her daughter, Doris Jean Young of Winnabow, NC; her sisters, Gladys Gore and Loraine Simpkins; her eight grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren.
Ms. Pearson was preceded in death by her husband F. LeRoy Pearson; and her son J. DeShields Pearson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Marlow Heights Baptist Church, 517 Braxton Rd., Front Royal, VA 22630.

Dear Doris, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. I will treasure fond memories of Ms. Helen at our Gems' gatherings! What a full life Helen lived - and Doris Jean, what a loving and loyal daughter you have been. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I remember many good times and how kind Helen always was to me. Coming on Christmas morning and cooking oysters was always a holiday highlight.
