
Bill was born on September 13, 1954, to Cherie’ Dyer Hackney and William Randle Hackney, who both preceded him in death.
He worked as a Safety Director for D.A. Foster and was with the company for 35 years. Bill was unaware of how many lives he impacted.
He always took the time to help everyone; family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. He spent the last 29 years living on the North Fork of the Shenandoah
River, the second love of his life, the first being his wife of 35 years and his two adoring daughters. He is survived by his wife, Denise Ann Hackney;
his two daughters, Alicia Hackney Guy and her husband Jason Guy of Culpeper, and Chelsey Ann Hackney of Browntown; his sister, Suzie Hackney
Miller and her husband Craig Miller of Sunnyvale, California; his brother in-law, Douglas Provan and his wife Dee Provan of Roanoke; his two nieces,
Sierra Hackney-Miller, and Stephanie Kramer; his nephew, Brandon Provan; and his sister-in-law, Lizanne Roberts of Savannah, Georgia.
Honorary Pallbearers include Douglas Provan, Brandon Provan, Jeff Russell, Greyson Russell, Jason Guy, Craig Miller, Nathanial Hast, and Bob
Wiseman.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home with Elder Gary N. Utz officiating. Those who
