William Stuart Royston Sr.

A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home with Reverend Joseph Swack officiating. Burial will follow in Rockland Community Cemetery in Front Royal.

Mr. Royston was born on April 14, 1934 in Frederick County, VA, a son of the late Charles and Ruby Coverstone Royston. He worked for Virginia Division of Forestry for 15 years, he was part owner of Shen-Valley Auction Company and Shen-Valley Flea Market, he also owned White Oak Farm where he pursued his love of farming. He was a member of Rockland Community Church, Front Royal Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post #53 in Front Royal.

Mr. Royston is survived by his second wife, Shirley Stone Royston; his son, William Royston, Jr. and wife Tina and their godson Justin Williams of Front Royal; his aunt Donna Lee Knepp of Winchester; and his brother-in-law, Wendell Stone and wife Marie of Winchester.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Royston was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth P. Royston.

Pallbearers will be Mark Eshelman, John Thomson, A.P. MacDonald, Ernest Grove, Rick Grime and Larry Tinsman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Grime, William C. Trenary, III, Paul Allison, Tommy Fritts, Rich “Bud” Orndorff, and Thomas Megath

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the C. O. P. D. Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Ave., Ste 302, Miami, FL 33133.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
