

The funeral service is scheduled at Discovery Fellowship Church, 6630 Brittany Drive, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, beginning with be a viewing from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM for those that would like to visit him. A Celebration of Life ceremony from 11:00 – 12:00, noon, directly followed by a reception for others to share their memories of Garrett with the family. Food will be served.
Garrett will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery on May 5, 2022 beginning at 11:15 AM with full Military Honors and 21 gun salute. He will leave Allnutt Funeral Home in the morning and transported to Fort Logan Cemetery.
Garrett grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado and attended Bacon Elementary (K – 5th), Preston Middle School (6th – 8th), and graduating from Poudre Community Academy 2019. During Middle School, he began his life-long dream and passion of avionics by joining Civil Air Patrol (CAP). He rose to the rank of Lieutenant and initiated the Honor Guard for the local branch. Upon graduating High School, Garrett entered the Air Force on August 26, 2019. He graduated Air Force Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airman Garrett Johnson continued his Military training with the 362nd Training Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base, Eglin Air Force Base, and Luke Air Force Base. He graduated Technical Training School on April 24, 2020 as a Fifth Generation Tactical Aircraft Crew Chief (“Maintainer”). Upon graduation, Airman Garrett Johnson was assigned to Hill Air Force Base as an Assistant Dedicated Crew Chief on the F-35 A Lightning II with the 34th Fighter Generation Squadron (Rude Rams). He was responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and airworthiness of the most lethal, survivable and connected fighter aircraft in the world. Garrett lived his dream by maintaining the world’s most advanced multirole fighter.
Garrett had a passion for military ceremony and through his volunteer work, he continued his love for CAP by joining the Cadet Program as an Honor Guard instructor for the Layton, Utah Civil Air Patrol (CAP). He guided a brand new Honor Guard branch to competing at the National Cadet Competition (NCC) in their first year.
Garrett’s hobbies included fishing, hiking, flying RC planes, riding his motorcycle, enjoying outdoors and being with friends and family.
Garrett is survived by his Mother, Lissa Johnson, Fort Collins, Father, Richard Johnson, Fort Collins, brother, Wyatt Johnson, Savannah, Georgia, and sister, Audrey Johnson, Fort Collins.
In Lieu of flowers, donations are being taken to distribute to the local Fort Collins and Layton, Utah Civil Air Patrol units to provide underprivileged cadets opportunity to attend National Training.
