Anthony Michael Barton

Anthony Michael "Tony" Barton, age 64, of Fort Collins, CO, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly on June 15, 2024. He was born in Boston, MA, the son of Joseph and Gloria Barton. They often referred to January 15th, their wedding anniversary and Joe’s birthday, as their “bundle of joy day” when they took him home. He grew up in Manchester, NH and also lived in Goffstown, NH and Bedford, NH before settling in Fort Collins in 1999.

Tony was a proud alumnus of Manchester Memorial High School and continued his education at Hesser College, Hawthorne College and Southern NH University where he earned his master’s degree.

Tony was a dedicated employee, having worked for many years at Apollo Computer, Digital Equipment Co., and Hewlett Packard. He was currently employed as a Service Delivery Manager at Nutrien.

He is survived by his long-time partner June McCracken, daughter Shauna Simms and her husband Stan, son Michael Barton, sisters Mary Barton and her husband Karl Berardi of Bedford, NH, Cathy McCaig and her wife Tina Peel of Manchester, NH, granddaughter Taylor, grandson Owen and granddaughter Emma, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his two precious pups, Luna and Izzie. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Gloria (Gareri) Barton.

Everyone who knew Tony would agree that he was gifted with a brilliant and curious mind and always sought complete knowledge of nearly everything. He had a wonderful and fun sense of humor and was a true foodie. He loved to cook, and on weekends you could find him grilling or smoking meats for family, friends, or just out of pure enjoyment. He enjoyed traveling, taking trips on his Harley to various locations, New Mexico being one of the many places he enjoyed going to. When traveling to visit family in NH, you could often find him at any one of his favorite restaurants from his youth, Bob Nadeau’s being #1. Tony will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
