May G-d comfort you among the mourners for Zion and Jerusalem and may you know no more sorrow.  I did not know Arlene but I was a grammar school classmate of Eddie and then he went to summer school and got ahead in high school by one semester so we weren't classmates but we were schoolmates. Most importantly, we were AZA brothers and were active in AZA together. He was the teacher of new members about the ideals and customs and goals of AZA and I took them to heart and became very active and eventually president of the chapter and a regional officer. I owe a lot of that to Ed. I also knew his brother, Larry, slightly--I knew he passed away also, I think in an accident.  How I met Larry is a funny story. I was sitting in a courtroom waiting for my case to be called, and a lawyer steps up and says, "Good morning, Your  Honor, I'm Lawrence Krulewich, Assistant States Attorney." I had seen his name in the paper a couple of times so that wasn't a surprise. When he was finished and walking out of the court room, I got out of my seat and beat him to the exit door. I said, "Excuse me, I'm Chuck Bernstein. i was a classmate and friend of Eddie's and I'm sorry to see that he passed away (it was a short time before this incident). Larry shocked me by saying, "I know who you are." I said, "How would you know who I am. The last time I saw you, you were about two or three years old. I was visiting Eddie for a class on the rituals of AZA and you were fooling around with the tire on my bike. Larry replied, "I was a student of your wife in the Sinai Temple Sunday School and you went along with her as a chaperone when the class made a weekend field trip to visit Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati."  I was really shocked. I knew the names of a few of the kids in that class, but hadn't studied the roster and had had no idea that Larry was in that class. I saw that Larry passed away also, I believe  from being hit by a car while riding a bike.
