Barbara enjoyed many years of Colorado living, especially Longmont and the Mountain towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, and Fraser. She made many friends in her Bridge groups, PEO, Bible studies and camping. Although she never learned to swim, she enjoyed water skiing and then in her 50’s snow skiing. She became a realtor in her 60’s. It was during this time in her life that she made a profession of faith and was baptised at Mississippi Avenue Baptist Church in Aurora, Colorado. Barbara retired in her 70’s, she loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family and friends.
She is survived by her four adult children. Daughter Kathy (Kent) Fahrenbruck of Fort Collins CO, son Bill (Barb) Haines of Greeley, CO, daughter Shelley (Jess) McDaniel of Sachse, TX and son Michael (Judy) Haines of Greenwood Village CO, 19 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren as well as 8 nieces and 5 nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Uran and his wife Jean (Wilson) Uran, sister Gwendolyn and her husband William Thayer, and ex-husband William A. Haines.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Front Range Baptist Church, 625 East Harmony Road, Fort Collins, Colorado 80525. Following the service will be a reception held at the church. A burial service will occur Monday, April 29, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Mountain View Cemetery, 1901 Mountain View Road, Rapid City, South Dakota 57702.
