To know Brad was to know a friend. He was a genuinely caring person who never knew a stranger. He loved life and held a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounded him, especially nature, and his love for Mexico and its people. He is dearly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Brad was born in Lakewood, Colorado on August 15th, 1976 to Galen and Susie Trabant. He grew up in Lakewood alongside his brother, Stuart, graduated from Alameda High School, and completed his Associates of Earth Sciences Degree at Front Range Community College. Brad moved to Fort Collins in the late 90s and was incredibly proud to work as a Senior GIS and CAD Designer for Alden Research Laboratory, a Verdantas Company.
Kindness and compassion defined Brad’s character. Conversation came easy to him and he always sought to include and get to know others. He was passionate about art, working in pen and ink, and had a keen eye for photography. He loved music of all genres and was an avid music collector. His hands were not often idle and he built many musical instruments, which now play in the hands of young musicians.
Along with his parents, Galen & Susie, and his brother, Stuart Trabant, Brad is survived by his sister-in-law, Stephanie Trabant, and his niece and nephew, Emma & Jack Trabant, whom he loved dearly; as well as several cousins and other extended family. Friends and family alike will fondly remember Brad and his gentle spirit.
Brad’s life will be celebrated on Friday, September 27th, 2024. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor, Colorado followed by a Graveside Committal at 1:30pm at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, Colorado.
In honor of Brad’s generous heart, memorial contributions are encouraged to Homeward Alliance and the Murphy Center for Hope or to Off the Hook Arts, a thriving nonprofit that enriches children’s lives through free group music lessons and instruments. Treasured memories of Brad and words of condolence for his family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
