Brent J Slade LOVED the gospel of Jesus Christ, his family, his childhood home, the songs he wrote, speaking Spanish, and Payday candy bars. In that order. He IS LOVED BY his Savior Jesus Christ; his wife, Gay; children, Keri, Jeff, Jeremy, Lindsay, Dana, Merrit, and Colin and their spouses; and all 31 of his grandchildren. Tools, books, and his guitar were his toys. He told his first grandchildren that his name was “Awesome Dude” and that he was!
Brent was born August 13, 1945, the 9th of twelve children to Francis and Lovetta Slade. He was born in Durango, CO, but actually lived in the rural community of Redmesa, CO, which he thought was Heaven on earth.
After serving a mission in Mexico for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brent completed his education at both Brigham Young and Colorado State Universities. Since then he has built much, served many, and always smiled. We hope that once again he is walking, sharing his testimony, and singing in the Heavenly choirs.
“This life isn’t long enough for the love that [we] give you, so forever and always, [we] do!”
