Cartha May Renner Richmond, 83, born January 31, 1940, of Fort Collins, CO passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023. She was born in Terre Haute, IN, and raised in Marshall, IL to Elmer and Emma Fishback Renner. She married Thomas Morris Richmond on September 20, 1964. He preceded her in death in 2011 after 46 years of marriage. To them were born and survive two children; Rhonda Richmond Klith and husband Dave of Fort Collins, CO, and R.D. Richmond and wife Sarah of Severance, CO. Four grandchildren, T.J. Richmond, Hailey, Jaxson, and Mackenzie Klith as well as sister Ruth Ann Anacker and husband Harold of Marshall, IL, brother Charles Renner and wife Susan of Stevensville, MT, brother-in-law Dean Evert of Brigham City, UT, seven nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister Leda Evert and nephews; Hans Anacker and Jon Campbell.
She was active with Job’s Daughter Bethel #85 of Marshall, IL, a Past Honored Queen, Past Guardian, and Past Director of Music in the state of IL. A 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star #739 and a Lifetime member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary #785 in Fort Collins where she was Auxiliary member of the year in 2015.
Prior to moving to Fort Collins in 1988, she and her husband owned E-Z Clean Inc. in Terre Haute, IN and the Dairy Queen Brazier in Marshall, IL. She retired from Kelly-Moore Paint Co in Fort Collins after 17 years as an Administrative Assistant. After retiring, she was a caregiver for Seniors Helping Seniors and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels.
In lieu of flowers, Cartha prefers that memorial contributions be made to the Larimer County Humane Society or Pathways Hospice of Fort Collins.
