He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Joan (Montano) Myers. They met at her home in Trinidad, West Indies, and married on June 19, 1948.
Clyde and Joan had two children, Bonnie (Richard) Thompson of Castle Rock, and Randy (Sara Hoffman) Myers of Fort Collins. Also surviving are granddaughter, Kari (Nikhil) Kansal and their children, Deven and Aanya of Los Angeles; grandson, Scott (Heather) Thompson and their children, Hadley, Shelby and Decker of Denver; and granddaughters, Kelsey Myers of Denver and Morgan Myers of Fort Collins. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan, and by his grandson, Erik Hoffman Myers.
Clyde was born March 20, 1918, in Birdsboro, PA. He attended Pennsylvania State and Florida State universities for his undergraduate degree, and earned a master’s degree at New York University.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and the Korean War, retiring as a colonel in 1970. For the next 20 years, he was vice president of business affairs at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He retired to Fort Collins in 1992.
Clyde succeeded at every endeavor he encountered. He was an avid follower of the stock market and played tennis well into his 80s. He was a practical joker whose wry sense of humor was contagious
